Linn's entry point to the Sondek LP12 family. The Majik LP12 combines the LP12 with Linn's aluminium sub-chassis, Karousel bearing, internal power supply and Krane tonearm, and this version ships with the Adikt moving magnet cartridge.
Linn calls it the future-proof first step into the LP12 ecosystem. It is available here in Black Ash, Cherry, Rosenut, Walnut and Oak.
Why you will love it
Sondek LP12 with Karousel bearing
Linn says its Karousel single-point bearing gives smoother rotation and greater stability. The stainless steel housing has a substantial lock-nut fastening that increases rigidity where the bearing meets the sub-chassis.

Majik sub-chassis and power supply
The sub-chassis uses multi-layer 1.5 mm aluminium with a five-layer laminated armboard, which Linn says creates a firm and acoustically damp platform for the tonearm.
The internal Majik LP12 power supply filters mains noise and turns the platter at a constant 33⅓ rpm. Use the included 45 rpm adaptor to change speed.
Krane tonearm
Krane is a static-balanced tonearm built from aluminium and stainless steel, with a tungsten and sapphire vertical bearing and dual ceramic horizontal bearings.
It has a laser-etched VTA scale, azimuth adjustment, magnetic anti-skating and a 3-point headshell. The 5-pin DIN output connects to the Linn tonearm cable.

Adikt moving magnet cartridge
Adikt has a rigid body and a replaceable Gyger II stylus. Linn says its performance is more than a match for many expensive moving coil designs.
Output is 6.5 mV at 5 cm/s with a 47 kilohm load, so it works with a standard moving magnet phono input.
Is it right for you?
A great fit if you…
- Want to start with an LP12 and upgrade later
- Have a phono input or phono stage for moving magnet cartridges
- Like a real-wood plinth in a choice of finishes
Worth knowing
- You will need a phono stage or amplifier with a phono input, plus speakers or headphones
- Linn also offers this deck with its Koil moving coil cartridge, which is a different configuration
- Linn says the LP12 is a platform for upgrades, such as Karousel, Krane and cartridge changes
Build your system
Connect to an amplifier with a moving magnet phono input, or use the phono stage in a streamer such as the Selekt Hub.
- Phono stage: Use the MM/MC phono input on the Linn Selekt Classic Hub 2024
- Amplifier: Connect to a stereo amplifier with a phono input
- Speakers: Add floorstanding speakers or Linn products
- More decks: See other turntables

Questions people ask
Is it fitted with a cartridge?
Yes. This listing includes the Adikt moving magnet cartridge on the Krane tonearm.
Does it play at 45 rpm?
Yes. It runs at 33⅓ rpm and Linn supplies an adaptor for 45 rpm.
Can I upgrade it later?
Linn says the Majik LP12 opens the door to a range of upgrade options. It says Karousel and the Solid Base can be retro-fitted to LP12 decks, and the Majik sub-chassis is available as an upgrade.
Which phono input does it need?
The Adikt is a moving magnet cartridge, so a standard MM phono input suits it.
