I have been somewhat reluctant to provide a review for this speaker because I don't have the 'ears' for the task and I wear hearing aids to compensate.

With that caveat in place, my initial response when I finally had the unit in my hands was one of disappointment because it was so compact. it did however have a nice heft to it so, there was some reason for optimism.

Then I listened to it and was staggered by the depth and fullness of what I was hearing. All trepidation about size was instantly blown away and I am continually delighted with little unit.

My musical tastes are eclectic and run from pop from the fifties through to the eighties, love the swing era and the big band sound, and delve into the decades before that as well. Throw in light classical, folk, traditional, and some world music as well as trad. jazz and you get a sense of the range of styles the little Yamaha has had thrown at it and it copes effortlessly. And I just bop around the house enjoying the listening experience.

It is fair to say I am delighted with my purchase. There is plenty of volume for any area in my home, and while you are never going to achieve the same levels of bass to match a 15'' subwoofer, the unit surprises and delivers a nicely rounded and balanced sound.

All in all, this has been a wonderful experience. I had a fantastic price from Todds who were proactive in keeping me updated throughout as my (online) order progressed through the system which was quick, painless, and efficient. So…
