WHEN THE SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO THE TV AS YOUR COMPUTER MIGHT BE CONNECTED TO THE SMART TV AS WELL. IT PICKS UP YOUR COMPUTER BY HDMI OUT AS THE HDMI OUT IS ARC AND eARC COMPATIBLE.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS THAT I HAVE A 100 WATT AND 100 WAT DIGITAL SOUND CARD AND GRAPHICS CARD WHICH IS HIGHER WATTAGE THAN MY 80 WATT SYSTEM AS I HAVE MY COMPUTER GOING THROUGH MY SYTEM AND THROUGH MY 110 WATT SPEAKERS. THE WATTAGE OF MY SOUND CARD AND GRAPHICS CARD I ASSUME IT HAS TO BE HIGHER THAN THE WATTAGE OF MY 80 WATT SYSTE. THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE YOU MIGHT BLOW YOUR COMPUTER SO ALWAYS SAFETY.

    Great value: fit for purpose

Good little sub for near-field, desktop or bedroom setups. Was worried, there’s no crossover dial, but seems to have a preset at around 120hz which is fine for smaller bookshelf setups. Great value sub for small surround or stereo setups.

    Yamaha NS-SW050 8" Subwoofer

This subwoofer has way too much power for my bedroom, which is good. All that is required is to adjust the subwoofer output to the level of the signal from my main speakers so that they don't get overpowered by the sub. Positioning of the sub with regard to my room's wall was a bit of an experiment, but I eventually got it right by placing the sub about 10 inches from the wall. Too close to the wall will result in a jarring sound from the sub. I am enjoying my 2.1 system with Yamaha speakers, BT source thru amp, or CD source thru a DAC/Preamp/Amp. Todds HiFi is a reliable/trustworthy retailer for genuine products.
