Silver AMS 8G

The Silver AMS 8G features a 5.25-inch bass/mid driver and 25mm Gold Dome tweeter, specifically designed to deliver the precise height effects required by Dolby Atmos soundtracks. Its exacting dimensions allow it to sit perfectly atop the Silver 50 or Silver 300, making it a seamless addition that helps create a fully immersive, high-performance home cinema experience.

The Silver AMS 8G is finished in either High Gloss Black, Satin White or European Walnut (man-made engineered wood) and comes with bespoke, magnetic speaker grilles as standard.

New C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter — Lightweight, strong and more rigid than conventional materials, C-CAM remains the staple driver cone choice for all Monitor Audio speakers and works pistonically to deliver impressive levels of fidelity, now with an evolved RST cone geometry that reduces breakup and resonances.
2. C-CAM, RST III Mid-Range Driver — Gold 6G-inspired surround, progressive spider, upgraded voice coil and venting, housed in its own enclosure for natural, focused mid-range clarity.
3. C-CAM, RST III Bass Driver — The C-CAM bass driver with RST III cone geometry delivers greater stiffness and reduced resonance for cleaner, more controlled sound. An upgraded motor system enhances power handling, lowers distortion and ensures consistent, dynamic performance across the full listening range.
4. Silent Flow Port Technology — Larger, fluted internal ports with owl-feather-inspired flare geometry reduce turbulence and chuffing for cleaner, deeper bass.
5. Crossover Upgrades — Premium capacitors, inductors, and resistors for improved signal integrity, smoother driver integration, and minimal colouration at all listening levels.
6. Cabinet — Rigid internal bracing throughout and specific damping along with the through-bolt assembly reduce resonance and panel vibration, improving transient response and overall sonic accuracy.

Through-Bolt Driver Bracing — Through-Bolt technology allows the drive units to be securely braced to the rear of the cabinet and tightened to a specific torque to ensure the drive unit and cabinet remain structurally strong, removing unwanted chassis resonances and strengthening overall cabinet rigidity.

C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter

The new high-frequency driver has been comprehensively refined to deliver greater clarity, control and openness. A vented design and newly optimised internal enclosure geometry reduce distortion and improve airflow, while the addition of a shorting ring lowers impedance variation for cleaner, more consistent performance. The tweeter features an updated compression ring geometry and a new ring neodymium magnet for increased magnetic efficiency. Completing the system is the latest evolution of the UD Waveguide II, with refined geometry to improve directivity and deliver a smoother, more natural high-frequency response across a wider listening area.

The updated RST III cone geometry increases stiffness while reducing unwanted resonances, supported by a reprofiled surround and a newly developed progressive spider with optimised geometry for improved linearity. An upgraded voice coil and enhanced venting improve thermal management and power handling, while selected models benefit from a larger magnet and optimised magnetic circuit, delivering tighter control, lower distortion and a more precise, dynamic sound across the listening range.

Silent Flow Port Technology

The new Silver Series 8G port technology takes bass performance to the next level by significantly increasing diameter to reduce turbulence compared with previous designs. Its innovative flare geometry is inspired by the interlocking wing feathers of an Owl, which allow silent flight, guiding airflow smoothly and quietly through the port. This biomimetic approach not only minimises chuffing and turbulence for cleaner, deeper bass but is also a principle used in high-efficiency technologies such as wind turbine blades, demonstrating the wider potential of nature-inspired engineering.
