The centre of crisp sound quality.

The centre speaker is arguably the most important part of your home theatre surround sound system. The centre channel is where vocals in a movie or television show are reproduced to provide clear dialogue as well as a crisp sound quality. Selecting the right centre channel speaker is also vital for music, as it separates the vocals from the instruments to provide a well-rounded sound.

Monitor Audio Gold C250 (5G) Centre Speaker

The centre speaker does the majority of the heavy lifting in any home cinema system – but that doesn’t mean a centre speaker must look like a heavyweight. Thanks to the compact dimensions of the 2½" (64 mm) C-CAM mid-range driver with a MPD high-frequency transducer module, and the 6½" (165 mm) RDT II bass drivers either side, Gold C250 is a three-way design without the big footprint you might expect.

Its wide dispersion characteristics make it a wide-screen listen, and it’s adaptable enough to sit happily between any of the speakers in the Gold Series.

    Key Features

The benefits of using a centre Speaker in your surround system

The benefits of using a centre channel speaker are clear. Having crisp dialogue and well-rounded sound is crucial for a great home theatre experience. The centre channel speaker is also important for music, as it separates the vocals from the instruments for a more immersive listening experience. By using centre speakers, you can enjoy your movies and music to their fullest potential.

How to choose the right centre speakers for your needs.

When choosing a centre speaker, there are a few things to consider. The most important thing is to make sure that the speaker is the right size for your needs. If the speaker is too small, it will not be able to produce the sound quality you desire. If the speaker is too large, it may overwhelm your other speakers and create an imbalance in your surround sound system.

Other factors to consider when choosing centre speakers include:
        - the type of enclosure (sealed, ported or infinite baffle)
        - the frequency response range
        - the power handling capabilities
        - the impedance rating
        - the sensitivity rating
        - the warranty

Once you have considered all of these factors, you will be able to choose the perfect centre speaker for your home theatre system.

Centre speakers for your surround system.

Having a component audio system allows better control of your system compared with a soundbar. A separate centre speaker channel connected to an AV receiver will allow you to boost and adjust the level of the centre and allow dialogue to come through easier. It's crucial to pick a centre that sounds clear and realistic to match your system. Chat to us about picking the right centre speaker for you.

Our most frequently asked Centre Speakers questions

A centre channel speaker is an incredibly versatile speaker and a vital part of any home theatre or home cinema system. The centre channel is where vocals in a movie or television show are reproduced to provide clear dialogue as well as a crisp sound quality. Selecting the right centre channel speaker is also vital for music, as it separates the vocals from instruments, providing a well-rounded sound.

A centre speaker handles the majority of the dialogue in a movie or TV show and is a crucial element of your home theatre setup. It is typically placed in the middle of the soundstage, directly above or below the television. The centre speaker is responsible for creating a clear and concise centre channel that allows the viewer to understand what is being said on screen. Without a good centre speaker, dialogue can be muffled, unclear, or even completely lost in the mix.

Just as a centre speaker is important for movies and TV shows, a centre channel speaker can also be beneficial for music listening. They can provide a more focused and clear, detailed sound for vocals and instruments, making them easier to hear. Additionally, they can help to create a more immersive listening experience by providing a sense of space and width to the soundstage.

A centre channel speaker is good for many things, but one of its most important roles is to improve the clarity of dialogue in movies and TV shows. If you have ever struggled to understand what was being said on screen, a centre channel speaker can help. By providing a clear and concise centre channel, a centre speaker can make it much easier to follow along with the conversation.

Some people believe that having the centre speaker above the TV helps to create a more immersive experience, as it places the sound source closer to the viewer's ears. Others find that having the centre speaker below the TV creates a cleaner and more balanced soundstage. Ultimately, it comes down to what sounds best to you. Experiment with different placement options and see what works best for your listening environment.
